Abstract

This research focuses on the subject of form transformations in the works of the sculptor Saleh Al-Qaraghouli. It aims to identify these transformations through a selection of the artist's works. The research, titled The Transformations of Form in the Sculptures of Saleh Al-Qaraghouli, is divided into four chapters: Chapter One introduces the research problem, its significance, findings, limitations, and definitions of key terms.Chapter Two presents the theoretical framework, which is divided into two sections: Section One: The concept of form and its role in the visual artistic value. Section Two: Transformations of form in contemporary art. Chapter Three provides a practical application of the research, analyzing a number of selected works by Saleh Al-Qaraghouli to address the research's objectives. Chapter Four concludes with the research findings, based on an analysis of selected works by the sculptor, which are summarized as follows:

  1. The sculptor achieves transformation in his work through simplification and detaching forms from their original reality, as seen in the analyzed pieces.
  2. Saleh Al-Qaraghouli reinterprets the Sufi concept by translating it into abstract forms, particularly evident in most of his works, especially those analyzed.
  3. The sculptor achieves transformations in form by reducing and dispersing sections of the body and abstracting other parts to enhance the subject matter and expression, as demonstrated in the third model
