Archiving and Preservation Policy

Archiving and Preservation Policy

The Raparin Journal of Humanities (RJH) is committed to the long-term preservation, integrity, and accessibility of all published content. To ensure durable access and protection against data loss or technical failure, RJH deposits content in multiple trusted digital preservation networks.

PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

RJH participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which provides distributed, journal-level preservation built on LOCKSS technology. PKP PN helps ensure that published articles are archived across a decentralized network of preservation nodes.

LOCKSS

RJH uses the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system, an open-source, library-based preservation network that preserves web content by creating many authenticated copies across participating libraries and institutions.

CLOCKSS

The journal also supports preservation through CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe). CLOCKSS provides a secure, geographically distributed dark archive and enactment procedures that guarantee public access should primary sources become unavailable.

Access and Permanence

By participating in these preservation networks, RJH ensures that its published content is:

  • Securely archived across multiple trusted repositories;
  • Protected against loss, corruption, or platform failure;
  • Preserved for long-term scholarly access and discovery;
  • Available for enactment under preservation governance in case of site outage or discontinuation.
