Abstract

This study, named (Internal Regression in Hunar Karim's novels) is concerned to forms and techniques of Internal Regression as a narrative device that assembles the story's time internally and participate to deepen the readers perceive of characters and contexts, and the study contains three essential types of this Regression: (Partial, complementary, and complete). The first section focused on Partial Internal Regression which recalls a past scene in a current narrative timeframe without splitting the chronological order, that its duty is empowering the emotional dimension and inspecting personal psychological transformations, Regarding the second section specialized to Complementary Internal Regression which is used to fill narrative spaces and explaining events backgrounds and inner causes, and gives the story a temporal interconnectedness and reaction that its meaning appears, While the third section handled the complete Internal Regression, which formed a completed time unit combined within the original story, that permit to rebuild the event and expanding the horizon of interpretation, It opens up a new vision to build up the plot from inside, The importance of study hides in displaying the duty of Internal Regression as technical and cognitive tool participate in creating the narrative awareness, and gives the text a dramatic power that based on stress between past and present, The study analysis really supported with novelist examples of Hunar Kareem, and with modern narrative concepts, The most obvious one is those that was provided by Gerard Genette, Siza Kassem, and Ibrahim Khalil, then the study finished with several results which are the study come up with them with mentioning the most important resources used.
